I have needed a little bit of a break from writing over the weekend. During the week I wrote a total of 29,000 words, including a chapter which I have been ridiculously excited about writing since I first had the idea for Gifted, so probably a good seven years now. It was such a huge relief to finish that particular chapter that I had a bit of a lull after writing it and I just needed a bit of time away from the laptop. Well, I say ‘away from the laptop’, what I actually mean is away from book two. Instead, I focussed my energies on self-promoting and researching a bit of book marketing. Sounds exciting, I know. But that time has allowed me to get my blog ready for launch, as well as make an author page on Facebook and Instagram. So, it was time well spent.
Unfortunately, while I have been on a bit of a lull, so has Amazon. For anyone who has ordered paperbacks over the last few days, they do not usually take so long to arrive. It would appear that my book is not currently being printed in the UK, but in Germany. I have no idea why, Amazon have not updated me to any changes. But I have received messages from some of you lovely people who have ordered over the last few days to update me on where your books have been. As it turns out, my books are travelling around the world more than I ever have. Lucky books! The downfall to Amazon being on a bit of a go-slow, is that I don’t get to see my book sales. On my last update I was well over the fifty mark, which is fantastic! My next milestone is one hundred sales. And to celebrate it, I will be doing a giveaway.
The giveaway will be available to anyone who leaves me a review through Amazon or Goodreads throughout all of May. There will be at least two winners, and you will receive a paperback copy of my book for a friend (or for you if have the Kindle version.
