Hello!
After a full month of silence, I have re emerged from the darkness! All that talk of keeping up with my blog while also writing and going back to work after a loooooong few weeks of lockdown was clearly just a terrible estimation on my part. I have completely abandoned every form of writing since the release of Hunted. Life has just about returned to pre-lockdown status which naturally means that I go to work, then I go home to sleep, then I go back to work. All the hours of free time I had just weeks ago are nothing but a distant memory and my social life consists of talking to my work friends about work while we are all at work.
How are all of you lovely people? I know that I can’t be the only one struggling to keep up with our new way of post-lockdown living. From the additional precautions of daily activities, to everyone’s new favourite three letters… PPE. From craving holidays, to wishing you could go out for a dance on a revolving dance floor and losing all dignity as you drink the night away while listening to terrible 90’s music. No? Just me?
I have numerous exciting adventures to share with you all (spoiler alert… there will likely be little excitement involved on your part, and it may take quite a stretch of the imagination to be able to label my endeavors as adventures). And as I haven’t posted anything in quite some time, I figured that I may as well spread out the previous month’s fun across a couple of posts, this, obviously, being the first. And what better to focus this post on than the release of Hunted?
Now, I knew that the hype around Hunted might not be as intense as it was with Gifted. Gifted was a surprise for a lot of people. Despite my first book taking so many years to finally amount to anything, so many of the people in my life had no idea that writing has been my passion for some time. When Gifted hit the shelves, it was somewhat impressive and interesting. That, coupled with the added benefit (if you can even call it that) of lockdown just beginning, people had a lot of spare time and a healthy dose of boredom to kick. So, it was no surprise to me that Hunted had a much slower start after its release. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed watching the sales and monitoring the sales rank. And, after a few days, hearing the feedback and reading the reviews. And then the highest praise of all… being told that Hunted had made somebody cry. Like, my writing, which I created, which came from my brain, actually made somebody sob! To know that that same writing has caused somebody to have a serious book hangover, well, that just blew my mind. As far as I am concerned, having the ability to cause such emotion through the words that I formed and recorded, it tells me that on some level, I have succeeded.
Anyway, here are a couple of the reviews I have come across so far:
I cannot wait, and I really, really don’t think you will ever understand just how much I cannot wait, to see some more reviews coming in. So, please, please keep them coming. Please give Hunted a read and share with the world what you thought of it. If you haven’t yet purchased either of my books then you can find Gifted here, and Hunted here.
When the time comes that I can focus again on writing, the next novel is almost completely planned and ready for me to begin. I will be taking a break from Rainey’s adventures and focussing on a whole new world and bunch of characters. But it won’t be long until I return to finally reveal more of the details of Rainey’s family.
Until then, stay safe.
