No, I am not old…

Hey hey hey to all of you lovely people.

My daughter just turned fourteen! Fourteen! I don’t know how it happened or where the last fourteen years have gone, but I am now the extremely proud mother of a fourteen year old. Even after fourteen years, I still do not know what I did in my previous life to deserve such an utterly amazing girl. Now, I know what you’re thinking (at least, I hope this is what you’re thinking), I don’t look old enough to have a fourteen year old. And to prove just how young I still am, I decided to get my nose pierced. No, I am not having a midlife crisis. My daughter chose to have the top of her ear pierced for her birthday and so I chose to get a piercing too. Because I can. And although this was not the first time that I had had my nose pierced, I was unpleasantly surprised at how eye-wateringly painful it was the second time around! So, without further adieu, and please ignore the nasty cold sore which has taken over my bottom lip, here is my new nose piercing. Yes, the Snapchat filter was essential, as this photo was taken after a long day at work.

Totally rocking the super tired pj-wearing look.

So, after a fun filled weekend for my daughter’s birthday, I am due back at work tomorrow. I figured I should at least try to fill another blog post before I go back to being too tired to focus on the laptop screen, so I have a few little snippets to share with you all, but nothing overly exciting. Strangely enough, I seemed to have much more of an exciting life while being locked inside my own house for five months. Firstly, I need to update you on my garden, which has finally progressed! The patio was officially finished today, and all that is left now are the finishing touches. Prepare yourselves for future garden snaps.

Every single one of my friends and family can vouch for me when I say that I can be a little over the top at times. Something I am a little weird about is the type of cup that is used in my house. I have two sets of mugs, just plain white, that we use for hot drinks. I refuse to fill my kitchen cupboards with anything that does not perfectly match, which actually annoys me more than anybody else. So, when I received this bad boy in the post, I had to use it, despite it not matching any theme. I have now found the perfect solution to this problem: my new favourite mug comes to work with me every day. My official editor and longest known friend, Becky Boo, bought me this for me, as a congratulations for the release of Hunted.

Speaking of great friends… We finally managed to have two of our besties over for an extremely late night of drinking. We were lucky enough to have a good catch up with them in February, just before lockdown, but it has been a full seven months since then and we were itching to have a drink, a takeaway and a dance around my kitchen at 6am. Here are the beautiful flowers they brought with them as a late birthday present.

After finally rediscovering my love of reading (or rather, my love of being about to stay awake long enough to actually read), I made a start on this giant work of art. It did not take me long to fall back in love with Edward Cullen.

And finally, I wanted to share a few cheeky snaps of my newest book because I am just so damn proud of how pretty it is.

Now, I don’t know when my next post will be. It might be in a couple of days or a couple of weeks. If it takes me a couple of months then you can safely assume that the hospitality industry has stolen my soul and you should pray for its safe return. In the meantime, read my beautiful books and tell the world what you thought of them.

Stay safe.

Love Love xx
